Polish artist Karol Bak creates stunning paintings featuring mystical female figures. All his works are connected in one way or another to mythology and are imbued with a mysterious charm. His heroines are a symbiosis of ancient legends, earthly and divine beauty, and striking realism.
Karol Bak was born on May 30, 1961, in Koło, Poland. As a child, he was fascinated by the myths and legends of the world's peoples, whose magic he captured on paper using pencils and paints. After high school, he enrolled in the State Higher School of Fine Arts, in the graphic arts department.
After graduating, Bak continued to master the art of painting in the studios of renowned artists Tadeusz Jackowski and Jarosław Kozłowski. Their work left a significant imprint on Karol Bak's development as a master. His paintings featured illusions, which he skillfully combined with eroticism and high realism.
Karol Bak first began exhibiting his oil paintings in the early 1990s. This original artist with a superb technique quickly found admirers, and his paintings began to sell. Today, they can be found in galleries and private collections in the United States, Great Britain, France, and, of course, in the artist's homeland of Poland.
