A Japanese man creates amazing gifs from classic prints (10 gifs)
A Japanese artist adds a touch of flair to vintage ukiyo-e prints by transforming traditional Japanese illustrations from old books into modern GIFs and memes. This artist is known online under the handle Segawa thirty-seven.
His series of animated GIFs sometimes feature trains, alien saucers, laser beams, or slow-moving kites and a gentle breeze.

Ukiyo-e prints were very popular in Japan in the 17th–19th centuries. This style emerged with the wave of urbanization, which led to the emergence of a class of merchants and small artisans who began writing stories and novellas and illustrating them.
