A fascination with the female form in natural settings and the emotional connection between them are central to the photographer's work. Rutger ten Broeke creates timeless, harmonious, and compositionally perfect images. The combination of beauty, purity, and technical mastery constitutes the author's aesthetic concept.

He gained worldwide fame for his classic black-and-white nude photographs. He draws inspiration from renowned masters who have made history in photography, particularly Edward Weston.

Rutger ten Broeke is a key figure in the world of photography in the Netherlands, both artistically and commercially.

Born in 1944 in Arnhem, he has been working as a professional photographer since 1968. Beginning with fashion, he has shot for international magazines. His work has been published and exhibited at numerous events in the Netherlands, Japan, the USA, France, Germany, and other countries.

While still studying at the renowned Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, ten Broekhe founded his own company, RTB Photography. In 1984, he organized the first of its kind in the Netherlands, the Photobiennale in Enschede.

In 1985, he founded one of the first Dutch galleries specializing in photography. He devoted many years to teaching, mentoring several generations of photographers, and serving as a professor at the Academy of Arts and Industry in Enschede.

Rutger ten Broeke began his photography career over half a century ago and continues to create, focusing entirely on independent art photography. Most of his works are characterized by an overall sense of freedom, beauty, and purity, as if the women in his photographs live in paradise.
