Brad Pitt believes he is in the final stages of his career (13 photos + 1 video)
One of the most successful actors of our time, Brad Pitt, is sure that his career is nearing its end. He now spends more and more time working as a producer and is much more selective in his approach to roles. He recently starred in probably one of the strangest photo shoots of his career and spoke in an interview about his life, hobbies and addictions.
The 58-year-old actor became the hero of the August issue of GQ magazine, giving the publication a rather lengthy interview. In it, he spoke about loneliness, struggles with alcoholism and smoking, and also mentioned that he felt like his acting career was nearing the end.

He also spoke with American writer Otessa Moshfegh, making several notable statements, including about his career.
The conversation took place in the house that Pitt bought back in 1994, when he made his first money in cinema.
Pitt has several properties in Los Angeles and beyond. It's a beach house near Santa Barbara and a modernist glass-and-steel residence, also in the Hollywood Hills.
“I am one of those beings who speak through art. I always want to create"
If I do nothing, then in a certain sense I die.
During the pandemic, he started waking up early to play guitar. He also learned how to cast porcelain candlesticks.
Brad Pitt has been sober for almost 6 years
After Jolie filed for divorce, he got sober in 2016 and attended Alcoholics Anonymous for a year and a half.
I had a very cool men's group here, very closed and selective, so it was safe.
Brad quit smoking during the pandemic, realizing that simply cutting down on cigarettes was not enough - he had to give them up
At the same time, he is ready to admit the attractiveness of his old vices, remembering the days when he smoked a cigarette “in the morning, with coffee - it’s just delicious.” According to Pitt, there are certain people who can do this their entire lives and get away with it.
It looks great. But I don't think I'm like that either. I'm just at that age when nothing good comes out of this.
In the late 2010s, Pitt was approached by a certain person who said that treasures allegedly hidden back during the Crusades were buried on the territory of the French winery owned by the actor, Chateau Miraval. It all turned out nothing, but the idea absorbed Pitt for a long time. Although now he doesn’t understand how he even managed to believe in such a thing.
I was obsessed. For about a year I could only think about this, I was so captivated by it all. I guess it was because I grew up in the Ozark Mountains, and there were always a lot of stories about hidden gold. But the whole idea, of course, was very stupid. The only thing that was really exciting was the treasure hunt itself.
One of Pitt's famous creative outlets is the wine he produces at his Provence estate, Chateau Miraval.
In 2008, he and Jolie bought a thousand-acre property that produces world-class rosé wine. The hobby turned into a multimillion-dollar business, and in 2014, Pitt and Jolie got married there.
The conversation matched the photo shoot - with a lot of mystical and spiritual thoughts from the actor
Here in California there is a lot of talk about “being yourself.” It would torment me, because what does “authentic” mean? [For me] it meant acknowledging the deep scars we carry.
“I have always felt very alone in my life.”
Lonely as a child, lonely even here, and only recently have I seen more of my friends and family.
When Pitt talks about the past, he has a Buddhist level of detachment
I think I spent years with mild depression, and it was only when I came to terms with it, trying to embrace all sides of myself—the beauty and the ugliness—that I was able to capture moments of joy.
Now Pitt seems to be in a mode of calm self-exploration
He shared with Otessa Moshfegh his dream, which haunted him for almost five years - in it, Pitt was attacked and killed with knives.
This stopped a year or two ago when I began to return to sleep and simply ask my attackers - why?
Despite the fact that Pitt is already seeing the decline of his career, he has several ongoing projects - producing and acting.
I consider myself to be on my last legs - in my last semester or trimester. What will happen in this section? And how do I want to make it?
Whether this is said about his career as an actor or the film industry as a whole is unclear. Pitt will probably switch to producing soon.
This year, Plan B Entertainment, his production company, will release the film "Woman Gossip" as well as the drama "Blonde," about the life of Marilyn Monroe, starring Ana de Armas.
Pitt himself starred in a rather specific blockbuster, Faster than a Bullet.
Pitt is still a movie star. Here's what Quentin Tarantino says about him
He's really good looking. He's also very masculine and hip, and he understands what's what... But what only the directors who work with Brad and the actors who act with him really know is that he is incredibly talented in his ability to understand a scene. He may not be able to articulate it, but he has an instinctive understanding.
He is one of the last remaining big screen movie stars. They're just a different breed of people. And honestly, I don't think you can accurately describe it, which is like describing the glow of a star.
I noticed this when we were filming Inglourious Basterds. When Brad was in the frame, I didn't feel like I was looking through the viewfinder. It felt like I was already watching a movie. His mere presence within the four walls of the frame created such an impression.
