Photographer Henrik Purienne is known and loved worldwide. His images, light, summery, and playful, are universally admired. Those familiar with the artist's work may think he's a regular at beaches and pool parties. This isn't true—he has many serious works, no less interesting and valuable. However, we'll take a look at his "summer" photo sessions, which can bring back a bit of that lost warmth.

Henrik Purienne was born in 1977 in Worcester, South Africa. In school, he was deeply interested in painting and architecture, but for some reason decided to study to become a television director. He worked for over 10 years at television companies, producing documentaries and programs.

But then Purrienne realized that another art form made him happy and picked up a camera. The master himself describes his work as "an obsession with visual perfection." He doesn't try to create a set around himself, but lives so that everything corresponds to his style. The photographer describes the shooting process as follows:

"But no matter what I shoot, the process is more or less the same: the scenes I capture actually happen. I never told anyone how to pose or what to do. Everything flows quite naturally."

Henrik Purienne's models are young women with perfect figures, wearing minimal clothing and makeup. The photographer captured his aesthetic in the photo books "Purienne" (2013), "Holiday" (2016), and "Jeux de Peau" (2019). These books enjoyed immense popularity, as did his collaboration with Saint Laurent, dedicated to haute couture.

Looking at Purrienne's photographs, you might think he only shoots girls by the pool. His shots evoke eternal youth, summer, and beauty. But this is only part of the master's impressive creative output, which he frequently shoots for serious publications devoted to art, fashion, and psychology.
