Travel photography blog Capture the Atlas has published a selection of the best entries from the 2023 Milky Way Photographer of the Year competition, featuring some of the most amazing images of the starry night sky. Entries were judged not only on the quality of the image itself, but also on the story behind the image.

Among the most interesting photographs is “Eyes of the Universe” by Mikhail Minkov. The photo shows what the “summer” and “winter” Milky Way looks like at the same time. The author took photographs from the same place at different times of the year and combined them into a panorama.
