Watercolors by artist Jean Haines (135 works)
Jean Haines is an English artist who is passionate about watercolor, life, animals and the beauty of nature.
From 1989 to 1997, Jin studied Chinese painting in Hong Kong, which influenced her watercolor paintings. Light, color and the open spaces of pure white paper, untouched by paint and left to the viewer's imagination, play a defining role in her paintings.
In September 1997, Jean moved to Dubai, where she taught watercolor workshops and painting courses at the International Arts Centre. Here she participated in many prestigious exhibitions in leading galleries, and was also invited to hold her first solo exhibition at Hunar Gallery (2000). Since that time, her paintings have been in many private collections around the world.
2001-2002 Jean returned to Hong Kong and taught watercolor at the American Club in Tai Tam.
After a short period in France and Belgium, Jean returned to the UK. Since 2006 she has exhibited regularly in Hampshire, where she also runs International Watercolor Workshops for professional artists. These workshops are attended by artists from all continents including South Africa, Italy, France and the USA
Jean Haines is a member of SWA (Society of Women Artists) and SAA (Society of All Artists). Jean is a regular contributor to Paint magazine, and her first book on watercolors was published in 2010.
