Cities without people: digital fantasies on the theme of post-apocalypse (40 photos)
French photographer and digital artist Chris Morin-Eitner began his project "Once Upon a Time... Tomorrow" back in 2012. He tries to imagine what a world would look like in which there are no more people and nature is gradually reclaiming its place. In the author's view, this place is not gloomy and pessimistic, but full of colors and life... some distant future in which humanity has ceased to exist.
“Angkor is sublime poetry... a reminder of a civilization long gone,” Chris argues. “Why can’t Dubai, Shanghai, New York or Paris be next?... Imagine what well-known cityscapes would look like if our "will civilization disappear - just like the ancients? What I depict is the complete opposite of the usual idea of an apocalyptic world. I see it full of life, a kind of new Eden, in which there are countless animals, birds, flowers and plants."
