Adam Barsby was born in Leicester, UK in 1969, his artistic talent was evident at an early age and eventually led him to the Kent Institute of Art and Design in Maidstone from which he graduated with first class honours. After graduating in 1992, Adam worked on several freelance projects for art galleries and magazines while developing his artistic drawing style. In 1996, he decided to devote himself to painting full-time. His confidence in his choice will soon be rewarded with invitations to exhibitions in many prestigious galleries throughout the UK. The first major exhibition in London of Adam Barsby was held at Harrods Picture Gallery in June 1998 and it gave the artist enormous success and popularity. He draws his inspiration from many sources, the oceans and coasts being particularly attractive to the artist due to their romantic nature. His unique view of the world, his simple stylized images, use of rich colors, textures and thought-provoking stories, Adam Barsby continues to take the art world by storm. The young artist's enormous talent earned him the John Solomon Trophy as the top selling artist in 1998 and 1999 from the Fine Art Trade Guild. The future does look very interesting for this talented artist. "The calmness in my paintings comes from the combination of their inherent simplicity of subject matter and lyrical storytelling."
