Stephen Bennett is an American portrait artist. Born August 6, 1961. Currently lives and works in New York. In search of ideas for his paintings, he makes annual trips around the world, during which he sketches, and sometimes immediately paints, portraits of the indigenous peoples inhabiting the most hidden corners of our planet. Young and old, fresh and withered, joyful and sad, faces fill his vibrant canvases, celebrating the diversity of ethnic dress, hairstyles and beliefs that characterize each culture.
