Collection of paintings of the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg. Part 1. (50 works)
The State Hermitage has a collection of about three million works of art and monuments of world culture.
Once the French poet and philosopher Paul Valéry spoke of painting as an art that reveals to us things as they once were when looked at with love. This is exactly the feeling that appears when looking at the paintings of the Hermitage. This museum amazingly brings together artistic treasures of all generations from the late Middle Ages to the present day. More than four thousand magnificent works that appeared under the brush of the greatest masters from different parts of the world. Shouldn't this be considered the real wealth of today?!
The Hermitage delightfully reveals to connoisseurs of high art the nobility and elegance of Western European painting, the luxury and genuine sincerity of paintings by artists from Flanders and Holland, the rich inner world and warmth of the hearts of the amazing masters of England and Spain of the 17th and 18th centuries. Among all the paintings, the sensual and exciting works of the early Italian Renaissance are remembered. Famous artists vividly conveyed their sense of color, which today reflects the sophisticated silhouettes of classical masterpieces of that era and modern aesthetics.
