The Magical Beauty of Maine Coons, the Largest Cats (49 photos)
Hong Kong photographer Robert Sijka has been introducing the world to Maine Coons, the largest domesticated cat breed, for years. Their massive features, rich fur, and intimidatingly majestic gaze give these cats the appearance of true miniature lions. Robert Sijka enjoys combining his two passions: photography and Maine Coons. Over the years, the photographer has learned to capture the majesty of these remarkable cats in all their glory.
Robert Siszka is a Polish man who has lived in China for many years. Robert and his wife have always been in love with the majestic Maine Coon cat breed, and eight years ago they began breeding them, later founding a cattery. After the birth of their first kittens, the couple faced the question: how to show them to the world?
It was then, along with Maine Coon kittens, that Robert began to perfect his photography skills—a passion he'd always had. After several years of practice, the photographer developed his own style and thoroughly enjoys working with such gorgeous models!
Robert admits that the most frequent question he gets is how to get cats to sit still during a photo shoot. His answer is always the same: it's impossible! "Cats aren't dogs; you can't just tell them to sit still," the photographer says. "That's why I think working with cats is much more challenging. When people ask me questions like this, I always answer that it's all about practice and patience."
Robert occasionally photographs people, but 99% of his work is with the 20 cats and kittens who live in his cattery. Let's take a look at a collection of the most stunning photos of the magical Maine Coon cat breed.
