The Mysticism of the Unexpected in the Street Photos of Anthimos Ntagkas (30 photos)

In his spare time, the amateur photographer focuses on people and their everyday lives, set against a backdrop of graffiti, billboards, and other spontaneous urban settings. This combination sometimes creates a comical element, and occasionally even a cinematic character emerges from the frame, as if straight out of an old Greek film.







"I'm fascinated by how people behave when they're unaware of my presence. Capturing a person's true personality is the main goal of my work," the photographer says.

Anthimos Ntagkas is originally from Athens. He studied at the Military Academy and serves in the Greek Army. Passionate about street photography, he began posting his photos on social media, and they soon began appearing in numerous online magazines.



"I like real people's stories, not the lives they imitate," says Ntagkas. "I always wait for a chance event, because the mystique of the unexpected is what I seek and what fascinates me. The more unexpected the event, the more memorable the photo will be."



To achieve the perfect combination of color, street posters, and human figures, sometimes you have to wait and observe for hours.



Anthimos Ntagkas took most of his photographs in Athens, but he also has wonderful shots from London, Paris, New York, Tel Aviv, and Budapest.
