Dutch photographer Erik Klein Wolterink photographed the interiors of various kitchens for his series, which was published as a photo album, "Kitchen Portraits."





Photographer Erik Klein Wolterink's unusual project invites us to peer into the kitchens of representatives of various ethnic groups living in Amsterdam. To do this, Erik opened all the cabinets, drawers, refrigerators, and stoves and photographed them individually, then compiled the entire image of each kitchen in a single photograph. It's worth noting that none of these contents were intentionally arranged, but rather photographed as is.



"I've seen many examples of well-organized kitchens, for example, in a Turkish home, where you can see goat cheese and olives, typical of Turkish cuisine," says the photographer.

"Much of these kitchens speaks to an open attitude toward other cultures."

The kitchen, as a metaphor, is complex and can easily demonstrate different cultures and their everyday lives.
