Ballerina and flowers – a photo series about the similarities between two graces (14 photos)

Photographer Yulia Artemyeva juxtaposes two embodiments of fragility and grace in her black-and-white series "Ballerina and Flowers."

Comparing women to flowers is not a new motif in European and Asian culture. Nature creates perfect forms that inspire artists. In this series, the author captures the moment when a ballerina's gesture is as graceful and beautiful as a flower.





To depict the extraordinary beauty that exists in such similar forms, Yulia Artemyeva posed for Marina Mastyka. The series dramatically emphasizes the similarity between the dancer and the flowers, whose petals resemble the ballerina's airy dresses.
