The World of Bodybuilders (16 photos)

Belgian photographer Kurt Stallaert is known for his unusual and provocative projects. One of his most talked-about projects is "Bodybuilders' World," in which he creates an alternate reality where people of all ages and backgrounds have the physiques of professional bodybuilders. In this series of photographs, Stallaert digitally superimposes muscular bodies onto ordinary people, including children and the elderly. These images are placed in everyday situations: school classes, family dinners, walks in the park.

This combination of familiar scenes and the characters' unusual appearances creates a surreal effect and makes one reflect on the perception of physical beauty and what is considered normal in society.





The author himself notes that all the photos were normal, and he added the muscles using Photoshop. The result is so impressive that even he is a little frightened.





The project was first presented in 2008 and caused a stir in art circles. Since then, works from this series have been exhibited at various exhibitions and discussed in the media.





Stallert continues to explore the boundaries of reality and imagination in his subsequent projects, using both photography and video.
