Nigerian photographer Bisola Mofeoluwa Bamuyiwa first picked up a camera in high school. Her first project was a prom, shot with an old digital camera. She became so fascinated with photography that she began searching for photography lessons online and quickly went from a timid amateur to a professional. Bisola now owns a photo studio in Lagos and has been repeatedly recognized as the best photographer in the country.

Bisola Bamuyiwa works in a variety of photography genres. But she especially enjoys creating portraits. She's rarely found in her studio—she travels across Africa, searching for expressive images for new works. Bamuyiwa's portraits of the people of the African Continent are always very lively and sincere.

The photographer is most interested in unusual faces. Bisola wants to show that Africa's population is very diverse and beautiful people are everywhere. These aren't necessarily models who fit the accepted mold. The photographer's subjects include a wide variety of men, women, and children.
