Tender fantasy by photographer Elizabeth Elder (22 photos)
Fairies, elves, mermaids, and unicorns live in the myths and legends of many cultures. They also live in the works of American photographer and retoucher Elizabeth Elder. The characters she creates are so realistic that it's easy to believe they exist. In her solo exhibitions, the artist tells amazing stories that she captures in her photographs. Therefore, Elder can also be called a storyteller.
Elizabeth Elder is a young photographer from Los Angeles, USA, who began her creative journey in 2016. Her work is imbued with surreal and fantastical imagery, based on mythological heroes and creatures. Elder harnesses the potential of digital technology to create her beautiful images. She meticulously processes the photographs, transforming them into a true fairy tale.
Until 2021, Elizabeth Elder preferred studio photography. This is unsurprising, as she created almost all of her settings in graphics editors. But in 2021, the photographer rethought her approach and began shooting outdoors. Most of Elder's fans believe that, although she has become less productive, her photos have become more vibrant and interesting.
Now she travels the world in search of inspiration and new images. Elder believes that the boundaries of contemporary photography urgently need to be expanded to include fresh ideas and unconventional approaches. She herself is an excellent example of how exciting the combination of skill, talent, and digital technology can be.
