A black-and-white idyll by Sebastian Lucivo
Polish photographer Sebastian Luczywo takes black-and-white photographs, but they're not at all gloomy; they're downright sweet—they feature dogs, children, and the nostalgic charm of village life. We've selected his best shots.
Sebastian Luczywo is a father of three who creates wonderful, heartwarming photographs of his family and their pets in a small, cozy, and beautiful village in Poland.
"My sources of inspiration, like those of any photographer or artist, are music and light. Lighting is the most important element in photography. It creates a climate and can even tell a story," the photographer says.

For most of Sebastian's life, photography was just a hobby. It was only in 2011 that he decided to turn his passion into a profession. His photographs are now known far beyond Poland. Sebastian has won numerous photography competition awards, including the 2012 Sony World Photography Awards: Open Competition.
Sebastian Luciwo creates wonderful photographs that are filled with kindness, warmth, and humor. Each image can be explored as a captivating story, further demonstrating how profound and powerful the art of photography can be.
Sebastian describes himself and his work this way:
"...I'm a husband, a father of three, a former business consultant with many years of experience in the telecommunications industry, and a lover of railways and travel. In short, I'm a middle-aged man. But that's only part of the truth about me, because when I pick up a camera, I'm as happy as a little boy and experience the emotions of a twenty-year-old, but I photograph like a mature man. And I photograph 'eternally' and always (whether I'm spending time with family, with friends, or alone)."
