Homo sovieticus (Sochi 1988) (50 photos)

Photo project by Carl De Keyzer. There are too many photos, but I didn't want to split them into two publications





The Belgian documentary photographer took these photos in the late 1980s while traveling through Soviet cities.

Carl De Keyzer was born on December 27, 1958 in Kortrijk. His career as a freelance photographer began in 1982, while he was also teaching at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent. In 1994 De Keyser became a full member of the photo agency Magnum Photos. His work has been exhibited in many European galleries and has received prestigious prizes and awards. He currently lives in Ghent and continues his teaching activities.
