There are peoples who live isolated from the rest of the world, and a British photographer took it upon himself to find them and live with them for a while. The author of Before They Gone and A Tribute to Humanity, Jimmy Nelson traveled to five continents in search of the tribes most distant from the major cultures of East and West in order to open them up to society. Take a look!

1. Khoyor Tolgoi Hill, Mongolia

He visited 34 isolated tribes on five continents, visiting some from his previous journey. While his first book was a selection of photographs, this time the photographer decided to branch out and add travel journals, maps, local facts and personal interviews, shifting the focus of his story from the subjects he captures to the journey itself.
