Light painting by Eric Pare (55 photos)
Surely many great painters dreamed of catching a ray of sunlight or moonlight and turning it into a brush capable of creating magical masterpieces.
Nowadays, thanks to technology, we have learned to catch and record light. True, in the photo. But the works are no less magical and exciting compared to the paintings. One of the recognized masters of the photography genre is Canadian photographer Eric Paré.
Eric discovered his photography style by accident. But he was so fascinated by light painting that it became the obvious choice. After spending several months learning the ropes and honing his skills, Paré achieved incredible success and became a pioneer and mentor for other photographers:
I play with light, space and time using light paintings, bullet-time and stop-motion techniques to create unique animated photography. Everything I do is hand-lit, one frame at a time.
Traveling the world with his light painting lamps, Paré combines light painting and landscape photography in incredible locations, sharing all kinds of technique tips along the way. When he's not on the road, he can be found in his studio in Montreal, where Paré works as a light painter. In recent years, he and his colleague Kim Henry have refined the tube light painting technique and made it accessible to beginners, constantly adding new tricks to create different visual looks.
