The photographer needed to take tens of thousands of photos to show the natural beauty of minerals (27 photos)
Chris Perani is a photographer specializing in macro photography. He dedicated his recent project to minerals for a reason. As a child, he loved to comb the beach for beautiful pebbles. "Unfortunately, the beauty of rocks and minerals disappears when the water evaporates from their surface, but with a drop of water it returns, as do memories. I wanted to capture the sense of wonder I felt as a child when collecting pebbles," Perani explained.
"We tend to overlook the hidden details that nature has to offer. This project was created to show people the beauty around us. Sometimes you just have to look."
"I have worked tirelessly for many years to perfect my technique. I hope my work will allow you to enjoy the beauty of this world. My images show the natural imperfections and purity of minerals in detail never captured before. Each work consists of more than 25,000 individual photographs taken using a microscope eyepiece attached to a 200mm objective lens."
