Russian artist Marat Nabi copies world-famous paintings using screws. He screws them into the canvas and paints them in different colors. According to him, this gives the paintings volume. “This is not an easy process,” says Marat. “First you need to recreate the painting on canvas, then drill more than 1,000 holes, and then take up the brush and paint again. It took Marat six months of work to complete the 12 paintings intended for the calendar.
