James Thomas Watts was born on December 28, 1849 in Birmingham. Studied art at Birmingham School of Art. His wife, Louisa Margaret Watts, was a landscape painter. James Thomas Watts was a very productive painter; Since 1880 it has been exhibited in galleries in Liverpool. The artist died on October 23, 1930 at the age of 80, having outlived his wife by 16 years.
