Sunsets on newspaper pages (8 photos)
The story began during lockdown. Xie Shibuya was stuck at home, like millions of others, but despite the situation, nature outside his window continued to live its life. At the time, New York Times headlines were becoming increasingly ominous and terrifying. This mood inspired Xie Shibuya to use newspaper cover pages as canvases, painting them with sunset gradients. This unusual practice evolved into a daily ritual that helped him maintain calm during challenging times. Gradually, the artist began depicting themes and stories that fascinated him. His main goal was to convey an idea without words or headlines, to share his emotions, visions, and personal experiences.
