Stephen Mackay – creator of another reality (35 photos)
Mysterious aesthetics and a frightening, but at the same time attractive mysticism are clearly felt in the works of this artist.
Stephen Mackay is a self-taught British artist. At least that’s what he says about himself, citing democracy and delicacy.
The artist prefers to remain in the shadows
There is very little information about him on the Internet. Apparently he is really modest. He also calls the lack of information mysticism, the halo of which should be shrouded in such a character:
I just hate these sites where there is a moody photo of an artist with some sarcastic quote about his life and work underneath it.
I'm 55, married, many children, cats, rabbit. I'm also self-taught, so if you're going to post something, let it be this.
Stephen was born in 1968 in Britain. Inspired by the great French, Dutch and Italian Renaissance masters, Stephen is renowned for his fantasy landscapes and portraits that transport us into his magical imaginary world.
His paintings and illustrations are imbued with a vintage aura, both due to the burnt color palette and the mystical and ethereal female figures and characters. Each of them is alive and excites the imagination, making us think about the fact that we do not know everything about the world around us and familiar things and phenomena.
