8 years ago, artist Kanat Nurtazin began his project “100 Drawing Methods”, and the art of cutting leaves is one of his favorites. For this project, he tries to use different materials and techniques.

Self-taught artist Kanat Nurtazin from Astana creates with everything he can get his hands on. One of his favorite materials is ordinary leaves. Using a blade, he carves incredibly thin and precise miniatures from a sheet of wood, each of which, when viewed against the right background and at the right angle, turns into a whole magical story.
