35 Drawings Made with a Typewriter (36 Photos)
With the advent of computers, typewriters are a thing of the past, but 23-year-old architecture student James Cook doesn't think so. He just doesn’t print on them, but... draws! James's work is very precise, has a lot of detail and looks absolutely amazing.
"It started back in 2014, while I was in college. I came across a news story about a man named Paul Smith, who unfortunately suffered from severe cerebral palsy. Due to his condition, he could not hold a pencil or brush, but created beautiful work using the mechanical precision of a typewriter. Inspired by his story, I decided to try and do the same," said James Cook.
Over the course of six years, the guy has collected a collection of 20 different typewriters, and he uses them all to create his paintings. His skill as an artist has grown greatly during this time!
"Drawing" with a typewriter requires a lot of effort and takes a lot of time. But the result is worth it. James is commissioned for portraits, still lifes, landscapes - his works already have many fans. So from a hobby it has already turned into income.
