Johann Georg Mayer called von Bremen, was born in Bremen, October 28, 1813.
Genre painter, student of the Düsseldorf Academy; von Bremen began painting biblical scenes, then went to Hessian, the Bavarian and Swiss mountain regions, studying people for his genre scenes, which have since become very famous.
He visited Belgium several times, and in 1852 he moved to Berlin, where he became a professor in 1863. Memberships: Amsterdam Academy, Philadelphia Centennial Exposition, 1876
