Vasnetsov Yuri Alekseevich (1900, Vyatka - 1973, Leningrad) - People's Artist of the RSFSR.
He was distantly related to Victor and Apollinary Vasnetsov. In 1921 - 1926 he studied at the painting department of the State Art Museum (later Vkhutemas), then at the GINKHUK under Malevich (only a few works from this period have survived). Vasnetsov collaborated with the department of children's and youth literature of the State Publishing House (Detgiz), where, under the leadership of V.V. Lebedev created his own world of Russian folklore.
