William Trost Richards (1833-1905) American landscape painter. I started with images of forest landscapes. It turned out differently: sometimes good, sometimes mediocre. At the end of the 60s, Richards found a theme that became at first the main one for his painting, and then the only one. This is a sea theme. Richards painted the sea in the 70s, wrote in the 80s, in the 90s, wrote until his death... And he wrote better and better. - Richards’s first seascapes still bear the stamp of a certain convention, but very quickly his style liberates, his attitude to the color scheme becomes extremely free, and, as a result, Richards became a classic of the seascape.
