“My parents are not artists,” says Olga. “And somehow I decided very early on that I would be an artist, I knew that I would become one.” I was worried for a very long time because I couldn’t understand: the neighbor’s girl was making such a bright pencil drawing, and no matter how much I traced the paper, I still had a pale sickness. And only much later did I find out that pencils come in different softnesses, and paper can also be different” (from an interview with the magazine “Bliki.” - 2005. - No. 1-2. - P. 52-59).
O. Jonaitis. Unicorn“Who do I consider a teacher? Of course, Dmitry Spiridonovich Bisti, whose course I took, had a huge influence on me. I studied very carefully everything that Gennady Spirin did, and although I am unfamiliar with him, I believe that I learned a lot from him. But my teacher, Natasha Yarosh, who prepared me for college, made me an artist in general. Since childhood, I have loved fairy tales, most of all English and German ones. They are very magical. Russian themes also interest me, but rather in everyday life, historical and folklore terms. Il. O. Jonaitis to J. R. R. Tolkien’s fairy tale “The Hobbit, or There and Back Again” I study European legends with great curiosity, especially everything connected with Celtic culture” (from the magazine “Children’s Literature.” - 1998. - No. 2. - pp. 84-85).
Since 1996, Olga Ionaitis has been a member of the Moscow Union of Artists.
