Photographer Navid Baraty has presented the world with stunning aerial shots of bustling New York City. To capture bustling New York or Tokyo, Navid literally has to hover over the edge.

"I simply lean in a way that feels comfortable while shooting. I'm more concerned about the possibility of my camera falling. But to prevent that from happening, I strap it to my hand," the photographer said.

Thanks to the photographer's work, we have a unique opportunity to look at the Big Apple from the heights of skyscrapers.

"I believe the rhythm of New York City can only be appreciated from a great height: the constant flow of taxis, the changing traffic lights, the waves of pedestrians crossing the street, the sound of sirens..." says urban photographer Barati.

Navid Barati was born and raised in rural Ohio, USA. Feeling drawn to photography, he quit his boring job as an engineer and moved permanently to majestic New York City. Navid found his calling in documentary and landscape photography. His work has been published in such major and renowned publications as Men's Journal, National Geographic, CBS New York, San Francisco Chronicle, San Francisco Magazine, WNYC, and The Huffington Post.
