Aerial landscapes – abstract art
Sometimes, from above, our earth appears like an abstract painting, filled with light, shadow, and geometric shapes. Artist Luke Basquin created a series of black-and-white aerial photographs titled "Up in the Air," in which photographs of North American mountains and valleys are transformed into textured patterns of lines, snow-covered fields, and rivers meandering like spills of white paint.
Luke Basquin is a professional pilot, able to see the world from above. And through photography, he allows us to see this beauty here on earth.
"I've always loved the sky." Whether on the ground or in the sky, my photographs depict the relationship between the world above us and the one below us."
Basquin's photographs create a new universe in which everything appears completely different, and every detail can be viewed from different angles. ![]()
