Originally hailing from the rural steppes of deepest Lincolnshire, Craig Ward is a London based designer and illustrator who likes playing with words. Having graduated in 2003 Craig Ward now trades under the pseudonym Words are Pictures; bringing life to headlines, creating new typographic treatments and continuously exploring the notion of word as image. Craig Ward works in a variety of media from letterpress and linocut through to the purely digital and three dimensional.

Craig Ward's previous clients now includes the likes of The New York Times, BMW, Ebay, The Guardian, The Economist and LloydsTSB.
