Italian artist Francesco Vullo references gender, politics, and social media in insightful and often humorous works, and says classical paintings are the canvas for today.

In one case, he censors the Venus de Milo statue to comply with Instagram guidelines and in another, he inserts Kim Kardashian's face into Edvard Munch's famous painting The Scream. Each of his works skillfully blends elements from two very different time periods to create a creative and original image. Born in 1994 in Palermo, Francesco completed his studies in 2016 at the European Institute of Design (IED) in Milan.
