A man built a complex composition of stones while his wife was shopping (4 photos)
Harry Maddox from Cornwall, UK, comes to the beach every week and creates intricate rock sculptures. While his wife was in the supermarket, the man put together a complex composition in just 30 minutes and named it Leanne #2.
Maddox explained that his structure replicates the moon gate, a traditional element of Chinese gardens. And he named it after his niece.
“The first part of the structure - the gate - was easily assembled in 30 minutes, and I continued adding stones until it was time to leave,” said the Briton.
The artist ended up on the beach outside St Austell because his wife wanted to go shopping in the town, but she doesn't drive.
After dropping his wife off at the store, Harry went ashore and created an amazing work of art. The man himself considers his creations “bulky” and “sloppy.”
After finishing the job, Maddox takes some pictures and dismantles the structure, since if it falls, it could pose a danger to other beachgoers.
He said, “My art is really just photography, so I take pictures of the finished work and take it apart before I leave.”
Harry published the pictures on his page and received many complimentary comments. The building, named after his niece, is not the artist’s first creation. He created impressive sculptures throughout the UK, from Anglesey to Dorset.
