The first Rambler car was built in 1900 by Thomas B. Jeffery, who had previously produced bicycles under this name. In 1901, Jeffrey founded a small automobile manufacturing company in Kenosha, Wisconsin. His two-seater carriages with single-cylinder engines were light and economical and were very popular.
