Games with the sun and moon: beautiful photographs with silhouettes of people (16 photos)
The sun and moon have always attracted photography lovers. Indian photographer Krutik Thakur makes beautiful photo stories with silhouettes of people, in which the sun and moon become almost tangible objects.
An Indian photographer has been taking sunset and sunrise photographs for a couple of years, and his work is so good that it has long gone beyond the boundaries of ordinary creativity - each photograph tells a small story.
It all started with a dream
Krutik Thakur was born in a small town in India and was attracted to photography from an early age. But his parents convinced him that photography was a hobby, and that in order to live with dignity, serious work and education were needed.
The young man studied and worked
At the same time, he continued to develop his passion for photography, using the cheapest camera.
Choosing the main plot
Krutik enjoyed shooting and his skill grew, but not enough to stand out among thousands of other photographers. He needed to find his own special genre, his own thread to success.
The sun was attracted like a magnet
Over time, Thakur began to notice that photographs of sunset and sunrise made a special impression on him, and he became hooked on the idea.
But one idea was not enough
To take good pictures of the shining sun and silhouettes, Krutik needed a good DSLR camera. But he couldn’t afford the expensive purchase and college fees.
Unexpected help
Krutik’s friend really wanted to help his talented comrade and allowed him to borrow his SLR camera until Thakur could buy his own. So the young photographer began to photograph sunsets and sunrises in a new quality.
Simplicity is the sister of talent
At first, his works were completely simple-minded: the silhouette of a person, bird or deer against the backdrop of a sunset. There are many such photographs, and Thakur wanted to bring the idea to the level of a masterpiece.
Your own camera
To constantly develop his skills and improve, Krutik was able to save money and buy his own camera. Due to this, Thakur spent every night outside, waiting for unusual shots of the sun and moon.
Sudden changes
However, the photographer did not always have enough time to combine work, study and hobbies. But everything changed in 2020, when, due to the pandemic, the college switched to a remote learning system, and there was simply no work. Krutik returned to his hometown.
Limitations are not the limit for thoughts
Fearing for his health, the photographer did not go far from home. He chose a place nearby and decided to shoot sunsets and sunrises there every day. At first it was just one luminary in the orange sky, but then Krutik decided to give more meaning to the photographs, to add a story to them.
Good start
He asked his friends to pose for him. And for each photo shoot he came up with his own little story: a game of football players, a search for treasure, an ice cream treat... These small scenes in a few frames could tell much more than some films.
Path to fame
Striving for fame, you understand that it does not exist without spectators. To get friends’ opinions on his works and show off his creations, Krutik registered on a social network and began posting pictures there.
First success
People quickly became inspired by the artistic photographs and began sharing them among themselves. Thakur had more and more fans who asked him not to stop filming. This was a good sign.
Thakur conquers the world
People on the social network shared pictures of the Indian so often that it attracted media attention. At first, Krutik’s work was shown in an Italian magazine, then in a Japanese show, a German program and in British newspapers. It was a success.
Continue to grow above yourself
This is the main thing that the author of the photographs is striving for now. Krutik is not going to stop at one level and generates new ideas, visits unusual places, and uses extraordinary props. But something always remains unchanged - its luminaries, so distant, but so close.
