Photographer Pang Wei specializes in macro photography. The objects of his professional interest are a variety of beetles, spiders and caterpillars. But most of all, Pang Wei loves mantises. Despite their miniature size, these creatures are fearsome predators, capable of turning their triangular head 180 degrees to see prey and grabbing it with incredible speed with their terrible pincers. But in the photographs they look like miniature fairy-tale creatures, capable of expressing almost human emotions with their facial expressions.
