Hunters with eagles (25 photos)
Nikolay Bondarev is a talented photographer originally from Siberia, Russia. Through his photographs, Nikolai talks about the interaction between man and wild nature, about the history of cultures that are in danger of extinction. This is not a protest addressed to the modern world and popular values, it only tries to tell a wider audience about the existence of other worlds and cultures, as well as the importance of preserving them.
Precisely those worlds in which in the 21st century the power of nature, not technology, dominates. Where survival and quality of life directly depend on basic and culturally specific skills to interact with nature and other people.
“Mongolia has attracted me since childhood. From the first day, when I started studying the history of the Great Mongol Khanate at my desk, I realized that one day I would definitely end up there. A country in which, according to most, there is nothing but steppes, actually amazes with its cultural and landscape diversity.
The photographs show the story of ethnic Kazakhs, Berkutchi, living on the territory of Mongolia,” says Nikolai about the series of photographs entitled “Hunters with Eagles, Mongolia.”
