Abandoned places through the lens of Anna Miki (15 photos)

There is something alluring about abandoned places. There is something attractive about them: here you can smell the past... and see how nature reclaims its own from man.

A couple of years ago, Polish photographer Anna Mika came across an abandoned cement factory in the city of Jaworzno and instantly literally fell in love with this place. Since then, she has been trying to visit abandoned places throughout Poland and other countries.

Anna believes that such places are filled with a dark beauty that is invisible to most people. She tries to convey it in her photographs, united under the title “Abandoned Places”, in order to share her passion with the residents of her native Silesia.
