Yuri Abramochkin lived for 81 years, of which he devoted 60 years to photography. Over the years, he managed to capture influential people not only of the USSR, but also of the world.
The photographer, who began his career as a photojournalist in the Mosstroy office, tirelessly photographed what was happening, including during the Soviet Thaw and the Prague Spring. He photographed Yuri Gagarin, Nikita Khrushchev, Richard Nixon, Valentina Tereshkova, Leonid Brezhnev, Jacques Chirac, Bill Clinton, Ronald Reagan and many other famous people. He captured the life and everyday life of ordinary people, documented important historical events for the country, preserving unique moments for centuries. For his dedication and work, in 1995, Yuri Abramochkin was included in the encyclopedia of modern photographers along with 15 Russian photojournalists.
