Artist Gavrilov Modest Mikhailovich was born in 1966 in the city of Cheboksary. In 1987 he graduated from the Leningrad Art Academy.
Since 2001 he has been a member of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia. For many years, his favorite motifs have been the ancient streets of Volga towns, granite-clad banks and the domes of churches.
He was able to combine in his works the rigor of architectural drawing with the poetic softness of painting itself, the documentary accuracy of historical places with an acutely modern vision and temperamental interpretation of ancient motifs.
His works are in museums and private collections in Russia, the USA, Italy, England, Denmark, Spain, and Japan.
