Description: A collection of photographs by His Majesty's court photographer K.E. von Hahn (Alexander Karlovich Yagelsky) about the stay of Nicholas 11 and the royal family in Livadia.
The family of Nicholas II loved Livadia very much: “In St. Petersburg there is work, and in Livadia there is life,” they said in the imperial family. Sadly, the summer residence did not please its owners for long. The royal family visited it only four times - in the autumn of 1911 and 1913 and in the spring of 1912 and 1914. On June 12, 1914, they left Livadia, not suspecting that they had said goodbye to her forever.
The author of the photographs, K.E. von Gan (real name is Yagelsky Alexander Karlovich), ; in 1911 he became the emperor's personal photographer; awarded with thanks from Emperor Nicholas II and Empress Alexandra Feodorovna; received praise for his work at a photographic exhibition.
