Famous Armenian fidayis in photographs
Fidai - participants in the armed struggle of the Armenian people against the Turkish enslavers in Western Armenia, Cilicia and areas populated by Armenians of the Ottoman Empire in the late 19th - early 20th centuries.
Fidai pursued both social and national liberation goals. Fidai swore an oath not to spare their lives for the sake of the Motherland and the people, to be truthful, morally pure, to keep the secrets entrusted to them, to keep their weapons in order, to shoot accurately, to be content with modest food, not to drink alcoholic beverages, to treat the working people with respect, to be brave and resourceful in battle, defeat the enemy, even if he has numerical superiority.
Let our children and grandchildren, looking at these photographic documents and repeating to themselves the names of the volunteer soldiers who gave their lives in the fight for the freedom of their long-suffering people, never forget about the heroic and difficult fate of Armenia. And let their hearts overflow with pride...
