Description:
FILM (from the Greek dia - a prefix, here meaning the transition from beginning to end, and film), a short film made up of a series of positive images, united by a common theme. D. is usually obtained on reversible black-and-white or color film, as well as on film using separate negative and positive processing processes. D. is viewed through a filmoscope (for individual use) or through an overhead projector, projecting the image onto the screen. The voiceovers are shown simultaneously with the playback of a phonogram with narration or musical accompaniment. D. serve as a tool for educational, school, lecture and propaganda work. They are of great importance for the education and development of aesthetic taste, curiosity and work skills in children. In the USSR, films are produced by the Filmstrip studio (founded in 1930 in Moscow).
