Carl Brenders paints realistic paintings in gouache and watercolor (11 photos)
Carl Brenders is a world-famous Belgian naturalist artist. He was born in 1937 near the city of Antwerp. I have been drawing since childhood. He studied at the Academy of Arts in Antwerp, and later at Berchem. Karl illustrated more than 20 books in the series called “The Secret Life of Animals.”
Karl first draws sketches in pencil; then, based on these sketches, he creates paintings. Works in mixed media, using gouache and watercolor. He perfected this technique for twenty-five years. The art of Carl Brenders is recognized throughout the world.
Karl himself adheres to the following reflection: “Nature in itself is already beautiful, wonderful, and therefore I paint with a lot of detail, with the greatest possible realism, trying to achieve perfection.”
