Roger Tory Peterson (August 28, 1908 – July 28, 1996) was an American naturalist, ornithologist, artist, and educator.
Since childhood, he was interested in birds, and later received an artistic and biological education.
Peterson has received numerous awards and honors. In 1952, he received the first of his 23 Honorary Doctorates. He lived a life full of adventure and great achievements. During his lifetime, R. Peterson received the widest world public recognition.
Roger Tory Peterson died on July 28, 1996.
